So I’m working on a film/tv project that I can’t tell you much about; ya, the one I’ve been cryptically telling you about for like a month now. And I’m not trying to be mysterious…I literally can’t tell you about it until it drops. Plus I always think I’m good at being mysterious, and I am not. But for this project, I had some new mastering done to the tracks because I wanted them to be really good. And I liked them so much, that I decided to have Collections II and Our Dreams are Made of Rain remastered as well.
I’m very pleasantly surprised with how they turned out, and feel as if this is closer to my original vision for these melodies and atmospheres. So starting tonight at midnight, both these albums go free, for 24(ish) hours. Maybe more. Because I would like all of you who enjoy this music and bought the original albums, to be able to have the new editions for free. Each track is remixed and remastered, and while still retaining that darker recorded feel that I am fond of, they now stand out and grab you just a bit more. The download links are the same, but every track has been replaced.
Our Dreams Are Made of Rain (remastered)
Collections II (remastered)
Water: Music for Meditation (remastered)
A precursor to the brand new music for the soundtrack to be released very, very soon.
This past December, I made all my music free for the whole month. I was blown away by the amount of you who still paid for it, and paid above and beyond for it. Half of the proceeds of whatever you did pay going to help a homeless charity in Santa Monica.
So to say thank you, I promised that my next project would start off free. And it’s here. Collections II is the new EP, with work that I am really proud of. It’s a bit of a departure and more experimental than I’ve released before, led off by a 38-minute track comprised of three improvisational guitar takes layered on top of each other.
Thank you all for your continued support, and I hope this music says thanks in a small way. If you would, you can say thanks to me by following me on Twitter and liking my Facebook Page. This really helps my career, and helps me keep producing music. And anyone who is following me there learned about this EP a few days early, too. Thanks everyone!
New. These pieces are meant for reflection, for prayer, for meditation, for dreaming. They move only just enough. I hope you enjoy them.
And for the next week or so, they are free.
And of course, more info on my blog: http://www.guitarforworship.com
Thanks so much, everyone.
So…I’ve been using my Facebook Music Page so much, that I sort of forgot I had a website. For more up to date news, follow me here or here:
But while you’re here, I did just release a brand new album that I’m actually excited about, maybe for the first time ever. It started as a project composing for a film, and then turned into a very personal session of songwriting. So I’m very pleased to share with you, Our Dreams are Made of Rain.
(Cityscape is actually a free track within the album…to say thanks to all you guys.)
Well, looks like I’ve been totally neglecting this site in favor of my Facebook Music Page. Heresy, I know. That’s pretty much like feeding Skynet. But anyway, here’s some music from the last couple months. Not sure if these will go on an album or a second Collections EP.
And for something a little different…trying to win that contest…which I didn’t:
As always, thank you so much for listening.
Hey everyone, new EP was just released. It’s got a couple songs from two compilations I wrote for in the past couple months, and some new ones. It’s totally free…just enter ‘zero’ into the little table on Bandcamp after you click ‘Buy.’ It’s free because I love you…but also, to hopefully spread the word a bit. So if you want to click the little ‘Like’ button under the album cover on Bandcamp, or ‘Like’ my Facebook Music page, well then there may just be more free love music in the future.
Live-looped lead track:
Re-recorded and re-mixed closing track. I was never happy with the version I sent to the Hope for Japan compilation, so I re-did it a little, and I think this one is better:
Check out Hope for Joplin to see how you can help!
Studio version is the same as the live version, but with certain passages dubbed over and tracked separately in order to spread the mix more:
